A Short Poem
A short
|
Author's note: the first version of this poem was written back in the 1970s, I guess. The original version of this poem by Hugh Cook features a red wheelbarrow and was written in imitation of the red wheelbarrow poem (starting "so much depends") by William Carlos Williams (1883-1963). The original version of Hugh Cook's red wheelbarrow poem will be found embedded in Hugh Cook's longer poem "A Red Wheelbarrow".
Speaking of "poems written in imitation," Hugh Cook has a poem called "The Taxpayer" written in imitation of Ezra Pound's "The Garret" at the foot of his analytical essay on Pound's "The Garret." |
Publication details: "A Short Poem" was written back in the Twentieth Century but was first published when posted on the Internet on 2003 July 19. A slightly revised version was posted online on 2004 June 27. Copyright © 2003, 2004 Hugh Cook. All rights reserved.
